It’s been announced recently that Sons of Anarchy actor Jimmy Smits is the latest name to join the cast of the FOX pilot 24: Legacy in a lead role.
The premise of the pilot is chronicling the return of military hero, Eric Carter, to the U.S and trouble follows him back, compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.
Jimmy Smits will be playing the role of John Donovan, a powerful U.S. Senator with higher political aspirations, who is married to the blazing smart former head of CTU Rebecca Ingram. If picked up for a full series, Smits will be attached as a series regular. Smits joins a cast that includes Corey Hawkins (Eric Carter), Miranda Otto (Rebecca Ingram), Anna Diop (Nicole Carter) and Teddy Sears (Keith Mullins).
I’ll say it’s quite a coup for FOX to attach someone of Jimmy Smits calibre to the 24: Legacy project, which might give us some flashbacks to his Matthew Santos days on The West Wing.
