Deadline is reporting that Eion Bailey, Katherine McNamara And Hamish Linklater are the latest names to join the cast of the CBS All Access limited series adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.
The Stand is an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by a plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the one-hundred-and-eight-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors, including Stuart Redman and their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers….the Dark man aka Randall Flagg.
Eion Bailey (whose credits include Band of Brothers and Once Upon A Time) will be playing the role of Teddy Weizak, a superflu survivor and member of the body crew, alongside Harold, in Boulder, Colorado.
Katherine McNamara (whose credits include Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments and Arrow) will be playing the role of Julie Lawry, a small-town girl with a wild side who is one of Lloyd’s conquests in Las Vegas.
Hamish Linklater (whose credits include Legion and Tell Me Your Secrets) will be playing the role of Dr. Ellis, a military colonel and infectious-disease specialist who dreams of being the hero who stops the superflu.
The series is written by Josh Boone and Ben Cavell, with the duo also serving as executive producers alongside Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller, Richard P. Rubinstein. Will Weiske and Miri Yoon will serve as co-producers whilst Knate lee, Jill Killington and Owen King will serve as producers. Stephen King will also write the last chapter of the series, providing a different ending to the novel.
The trio joins a cast that includes James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, Henry Zaga, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Brad William Henke, Daniel Sunjata, Whoopi Goldberg, Alexander Skarsgård and Nat Wolff.
