Collider is exclusively reporting that Alexander Skarsgård is the latest name to join the cast of the CBS All Access limited series adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.
The Stand is an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by a plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the one-hundred-and-eight-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors, including Stuart Redman and their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers….the Dark man aka Randall Flagg.
Alexander Skarsgård (whose recent credits include The Little Drummer Girl and Big Little Lies) will be playing the role of the main villain, the Man In Black, the Dark Man, also known as Randall Flagg.
The series is written by Josh Boone and Ben Cavell, with the duo also serving as executive producers alongside Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller, Richard P. Rubinstein. Will Weiske and Miri Yoon will serve as co-producers whilst Knate lee, Jill Killington and Owen King will serve as producers. Stephen King will also write the last chapter of the series, providing a different ending to the novel.
