Deadline is reporting that Meg Steedle has signed up for a recurring role in the upcoming third season of Audience Network drama series Mr. Mercedes.
The first season focused on Brady Hartsfield, a demented killer who taunts a retired police detective Bill Hodges with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again. The second season picks up a year after the season one finale, with Brady Hartsfield now hospitalised in a vegetative state. Now retired, Bill Hodges has done his best to move on from his obsession with Brady, teaming up with Holly Gibney to open Finders Keepers, a private investigative agency. But wen unexplainable occurrences begin to affect hospital staff members attending to Brady, Hodges is haunted by the feeling that Brady is somehow responsible.
Meg Steedle (whose credits include Boardwalk Empire and Gone Are The Days) will be playing the role of Danielle Sweeney, Morris’ (Gabriel Ebert) affectionate yet slightly naive girlfriend who finds herself out of her depth when she questions Morris and Alma’s strange relationship.
Meg Steedle will be joining a cast that includes Brendan Gleeson, Harry Treadaway, Jharrel Jerome, Scott Lawrence, Breeda Wool, Justine Lupe, Holland Taylor, Nancy Travis, Makayla Lysiak, Kate Mulgrew, Brett Gelman and Natalie Paul.
