Supernatural: The Fifteenth Season To Be Final Season

Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins announced on social media this evening that the recently announced fifteenth season for CW drama series Supernatural will be the last.

The series focuses on the Winchester brothers as they travel the lonely and mysterious back roads of the country in their ’67 Chevy Impala, hunting down every evil supernatural force they encounter along the way.

Created by Eric Kripke back in 2005, Supernatural has become the longest-running scripted original on the CW network, the only series from the WB Network era that’s still on the air and also it happens to be the longest-running sci-fi/genre series in the history of American broadcast television. The fifteenth season will consist of twenty episodes, meaning that that 327 episodes will have aired when Supernatural comes to a close.

I took time off the Supernatural train back in season seven, and with how far the series has run on since then I felt it would be more difficult to catch up with it and, honestly, it was getting to Law & Order levels that I thought it wouldn’t stop until season twenty. It’s a hell of a run and legacy of the series though and now I must catch up by this time next year for the big swan song.

Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Alexander Calvert and Mark Pellegrino.
