Media outlets are reporting that Steven Yeun and J.K Simmons will topline the upcoming Amazon animated series Invincible, adapting the Robert Kirkman comic book series of the same name.
Invincible is an adult animated superhero series that focuses on seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age…except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet known as Omni-Man. But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.
Joining the duo is a pretty impressive ensemble that includes Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise (aka Malese Jow), Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin and Max Burkholder.
The animated series will consist of eight hour-long episodes, with the series being produced by Kirkman’s Skybound, with Simon Racioppa serving as showrunner. Robert Kirkman, Simon Racioppia, David Alpert and Catherine Winder will serve as executive producers.
Invincible will premiere sometime at Amazon in 2020.
