Variety is exclusively reporting that Matthew McConaughey, Kate Beckinsale and Henry Golding are set to star in Guy Ritchie’s British crime drama Toff Guys.
Toff Guys is set to explore the collision between European ‘old money’ and the modern marijuana industry. It follows a British drug lord attempting to cash out on his highly profitable empire by selling it off to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires.
Miramax CEO Bill Block said:
McConaughey as the inside outsider with Henry and Kate will make for a thrilling Guy Ritchie movie.
The film is set to be in the same vein as his earlier work, such as Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, with Miramax buying the rights for the film earlier in the year at Cannes Film Festival for $30m. Bob Osher and Matthew Anderson will be supervising on the project on behalf of Miramax.
Toff Guys is scheduled to commence production later in the year.
