Deadline is exclusively reporting that Dominic Fumusa is the latest name to join the cast of the television series adaptation of The Purge at USA Network and SyFy.
The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
Based on the hit movie franchise from Blumhouse Productions, The Purge revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Set in an altered America ruled by a totalitarian political party, the series follows several seemingly unrelated characters living in a small city. As the clock winds down, each character is forced to reckon with their past as they discover how far they will go to survive the night.
Dominic Fumusa (whose credits include Nurse Jackie and Goliath) will be playing the role of Pete the Cop, a keen eyed, no bullshit, ex-military and ex-cop with a mysterious past and a dry sense of humor. He’s extremely connected and respected by the community, and has his finger on the pulse of the city.
Platinum Dunes and DeMonaco’s longtime producing partner Sebastien K. Lemercier serves as executive producers on the series. Thomas Kelly also executive produces as well as serve as a showrunner for the series.
Dominic Fumusa will be joining a cast that includes Gabriel Chavarria, Jessica Garza, Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell, Lili Simmons, Hannah Emily Anderson, Lee Tergesen, William Baldwin, Fiona Dourif and Sabrina Gennarino.
