Deadline is exclusively reporting that Patrick Wilson is the latest name to join the cast of Roland Emmerich’s World War II action epic Midway.
The film, written by Wes Tooke, is about the iconic Battle of Midway, a turning point in the Pacific during World War II, following the soldiers and aviators who helped turn the tide of the war in June 1942.
Patrick Wilson (whose recent credits include The Commuter and Aquaman) will be playing the role of Edwin Layton, the rear admiral in the U.S. Navy who was a key intelligence officer during World War II.
Roland Emmerich will be serving as producer on the project alongside Harald Kloser and eOne’s Mark Gordon, with Matt Jackson executive producing. Production on the project is set to commence sometime next month.
