Deadline is exclusively reporting that Rhona Mitra and Robert Baker have signed up for recurring roles for the upcoming fourth season of superhero drama series Supergirl.
After Supergirl defeated Queen Rhea and her Daxamite army at the end of the second season, the third season focused on Kara Danvers having to battle against Kryptonian worldkiller known as Reign, who was also transported to Earth just before Krypton’s destruction. Living out her life as Samantha Arias, she remained unaware of her origins until her powers started to manifest, then becoming Supergirl’s biggest adversary. The fourth season will see Kara having to take on Agent Liberty.
Rhona Mitra (whose recent credits include The Last Ship and The Strain) will be playing the role of Mercy Graves, an ex-CADMUS agent who has always believed in human exceptionalism. But with both Lex and Lillian in prison, Mercy is stepping out of the Luthor shadow and running her own show. With her biting wit and lethal brawn, Mercy steadily becomes a key figure in National City’s growing ‘human-first’ movement. Robert Baker (whose recent credits include Longmire and The Originals) will be playing the role of Otis Graves, Mercy’s brother and right hand man. What he lacks in brains, he makes up for with his savant-like abilities to assassinate aliens.
The upcoming fourth season also stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jesse Rath, David Harewood, Katie McGrath, Jeremy Jordan, Sam Witwer, Nicole Maines, April Parker Jones and David Ajala.
