The Purge: Sabrina Gennarino Joins Cast For TV Series


The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Sabrina Gennarino is the latest name to join the cast of the television series adaptation of The Purge at  USA Network and SyFy.

 

The official synopsis for the film is as follows:

Based on the hit movie franchise from Blumhouse Productions, The Purge revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Set in an altered America ruled by a totalitarian political party, the series follows several seemingly unrelated characters living in a small city. As the clock winds down, each character is forced to reckon with their past as they discover how far they will go to survive the night.

 

Sabrina Gennarino (whose credits include Jack Reacher: Never Go Back and The Walking Dead) will be playing the role of Madelyn and stated:

I feel incredibly grateful to be a part of this television series. The films of The Purge franchise are a tremendous success, and it is an honour now to be a part of the series with such an amazing and talented cast and crew.

 

Platinum Dunes and DeMonaco’s longtime producing partner Sebastien K. Lemercier serves as executive producers on the series. Thomas Kelly also executive produces as well as serve as a showrunner for the series.
