Hellboy: Milla Jovovich In Talks To Join Cast For Reboot

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Milla Jovovich is in final negotiations to join the cast of Lionsgate and Millennium Film’s reboot of Hellboy.

Mike Mignola created Hellboy back in 1993, telling the story of a demon being raised by a professor, growing up to fight supernatural evil beings for an organisation known as the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. The upcoming reboot, formerly titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, will focus on Big Red squaring off against a medieval sorceress who seeks to destroy mankind.

The report states that Milla Jovovich (whose recent credits include Zoolander 2 and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter) is more than likely set to play the role of the Blood Queen.

Aron Coleite is currently working on the latest draft of a script by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Mike Mignola. Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin and Mike Richardson are serving as producers on the project alongside Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman under the Campbell Grobman Films banner. If Jovovich signs for the role she’ll join already cast David Harbour and Ian McShane.

Hellboy is being directed by Neil Marshall and is aiming to begin production in September, film in the UK and Bulgaria.
