Deadline is exclusively reporting that Walton Goggins is the latest name to join the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man sequel Ant-Man And The Wasp.
The 2015 film focused on cat burglar Scott Lang, who is unknowingly tested by scientist Hank Pym, to become the new Ant-Man and break into Hank’s company, Pym Technologies, to pull off a heist that will save the world.
Paul Rudd will be returning as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, as will Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne aka The Wasp. It’s been reported recently that Michael Douglas and Michael Pena are expected to reprise their roles from the original as well. The report doesn’t state what role Goggins will have in the film but I’d be willing to bet it’s a villainous role. Maybe we’ll find out this weekend at San Diego Comic Con?
Walton Goggins recent credits include Six and Vice Principals. Peyton Reed will be returning to direct the sequel, with Paul Rudd working on the script with Gabriel Ferrari and Kevin Feige on board to produce. Goggins will be joining recently cast Hannah John-Kamen and Randall Park.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is scheduled for cinematic release on the 6th July 2018.
