Deadline is exclusively reporting Warner Bros. is planning a sequel to their 2016 film The Accountant.
The Accountant had us following Christian Wolff, a man who works under the cover of operating at a small-town Certified Public Accountant office, though he really works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organisations. With Wolff starting to appear on the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division’s radar, he takes on a legitimate client. Unfortunately as Christian starts to uncook the books and get closer to the truth, the body count starts to rise.
The report states that director Gavin O’Connor, star Ben Affleck and screenwriter Bill Dubuque are in talks with the studio to return for the sequel, along with producers Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams. The report also states that the sequel will likely include Jon Bernthal’s character. The Accountant was a hit for Warner Bros. at the box office, making $155m worldwide on a $44m budget.
