Deadline is reporting that Amir El-Masry is the latest name to join the cast of Amazon’s straight-to-series drama Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.
Jack Ryan will be reinvented with a modern sensibility of the famed hero from Tom Clancy, focusing on him as an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. The series will follow him uncovering a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the centre of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
Amir El-Masry (whose credits include Rosewater and The Night Manager) will be playing the role of Ibrahim, the most trusted member of Suleiman’s sect, though softer and more cerebral than his cohorts.
Jack Ryan is co-produced by Paramount TV and Skydance TV, with Carlton Cuse, Graham Roland serving as Executive Producers alongside Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross, along with the film franchise’s producer Mace Neufeld and Lindsey Springer of Carlton Cuse Productions. The trio will join already cast John Krasinski, Abbie Cornish, Wendell Pierce, Dina Shihabi, Ali Suliman, Marie-Josée Croze, Peter Fonda, Mena Massoud, John Hoogenakker, Al Sapienza and Timothy Hutton.
