Deadline is exclusively reporting that Jack Kesy is the latest name to join the cast of 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2.
David Leitch will be taking over the directors chair for the sequel from Tim Miller, where the original R-Rated superhero film made $782m worldwide on a $58m budget. The report states that Kesy will be playing a major villain in the Deadpool sequel, while insiders said they aren’t entirely clear as to what baddie he’ll play, sources have indicated that it could be a character named Black Tom. In the X-Men comics, Black Tom is a Dublin-born mutant who can manipulate, bond with and project energy through plant life. He is also capable of issuing concussive blasts with a wooden object, usually a shillelagh.
Jack Kesy’s credits include Ray Donovan, The Strain and Baywatch. Kesy will be joining a cast that includes Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Stefan Kapacic, Brianna Hildebrand, Zazie Beetz and Josh Brolin.
Deadpool 2 is currently pencilled in for a cinematic release in January 2018.
