Deadline is exclusively reporting that Alexandra Shipp has joined the cast of Simon Kaijser’s psychological thriller Spinning Man.
Based on George Harrar’s novel, the film will focus on Evan Birch, a professor and family man, whose past reveals a number of illicit relations with his students. When a young woman is found murdered, Evan becomes the prime suspect.
The report states that Alexandra Shipp (whose recent credits include X-Men: Apocalypse and Straight Outta Compton) will be playing the role of Anna, a college student conflicted by an affair she had with her professor.
The film, written by Matthew Aldrich, will also star Pierce Brosnan, Guy Pearce and Minnie Driver. Ellen S. Wander and Keith Arnold are serving as producers.
