The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon have been cast to star in HBO Films adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s classic novel Fahrenheit 451.
The drama based on Bradbury’s 1953 dystopian novel depicts a future where media is an opiate, history is outlawed and ‘firemen’ burn books. A young fireman named Montag forsakes his world, battles his mentor Beatty and struggles to regain his humanity.
Michael B. Jordan is attached to play the role of Montag and Michael Shannon is attached to play Beatty. The project sees Shannon reunite with Ramin Bahrani and Amir Naderi, who he worked with in 99 Homes. Bahrani is attached to direct the telepic and co-wrote the script with Naderi. David Coatsworth will serve as a producer on the project, while Michael B. Jordan will serve as an executive producer under his Outlier Productions banner alongside Brace Cove Productions’ Sarah Green, Alan Gasmer and Peter Jaysen.
