Deadline is reporting that Hannah John-Kamen is the latest name to join the cast of MGM and GK Films Tomb Raider reboot.
This film will tell the story of a young and untested Lara Croft setting out on her first expedition to finish her father’s research and uncover ancient secrets in order to clear his disgraced name. Roar Uthaug, who directed the Norwegian disaster film The Wave, is attached to direct. The report states that John-Kamen (whose credits include Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Killjoys) will be playing the role of Lara’s flatmate and best friend.
Tomb Raider started off as a video game franchise back in 1996 which was then rebooted in 2013 and it also managed to spawn off into two feature films in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003) which had Angelina Jolie in the Lara Croft role. Hannah John-Kamen will be joining a cast that includes Alicia Vikander, Walton Goggins, Daniel Wu and Dominic West.
Tomb Raider is scheduled for cinematic release on the 16th March 2018.
