Media outlets are reporting that The Good Wife spinoff The Good Fight has been given a second season renewal at CBS All Access.
The Good Fight picks up one year after the events of the flagship series’ finale, when Diane loses her entire life savings in a Ponzi scheme and must start all over at a new law firm.
In a statement, CBS Interactive president and COO Marc DeBevoise said:
We’re only a few episodes into the first season and the reaction from CBS All Access subscribers and critics alike has been phenomenal. This series and its characters are just beginning and we can’t wait to see where Robert and Michelle King, their creative team and the amazing cast take The Good Fight next.
The Good Fight comes from Good Wife creators creators and showrunners Robert and Michelle King and they also executive produce the series alongside Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Liz Glotzer, Brooke Kennedy and Alison Cross. The Good Fight stars Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Sarah Steele, Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters, Erica Tazel and Justin Bartha. The second season is being aimed for an early 2018 release.
