The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.
I think I’ve been saying this since Fast Five but there’s certain moments in the instalments since then that make you go ‘this is just bloody ridiculous’. The trailer for the eighth instalment here is all them moments combined and cranked up on NOS. I mean, the bloody sequence where Theron’s character looks set to remote control ALL the cars in New York city looks set to be an action scene stealer….until you get the clip where The Rock ‘throws’ a torpedo! Still no mention or sighting of Helen Mirren however, which makes me wonder will she be used in an after credits sequence or not. The cast includes Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, Kurt Russell, along with newcomers Charlize Theron, Kristofer Hivju, Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren.
The Fate of the Furious is scheduled for cinematic release on the 14th April 2017.
