Deadline is exclusively reporting that Mickey Rourke has landed a leading role in Archstone Entertainment’s supernatural horror film Unhinged.
Mickey Rourke will be playing the role of Dr. Elder, a prominent psychiatrist at a state-run hospital who wrestles with madness and a dark supernatural force as he races to stop an escaped patient from butchering five people held hostage in a remote house.
Ian Holt, who co-authored Dracula: The Undead, the 2009 sequel to Bram Stroker’s Dracula, penned the screenplay and the film will be directed by Mark Atkins. Archstone’s Scott Martin and Michael Slifkin will serve as producers on the project alongside Michael Alden, Michael Kuciak and Ian Holt from Alt House Productions. Nathan Reid will serve as executive producer. The film is set to commence shooting in Los Angeles in July.
