Deadline is reporting that Dustin Clare is the latest name to join the cast of Legendary’s Pacific Rim sequel Pacific Rim Uprising.
The sequel found it’s director in Steven S. DeKnight back in late February to begin working on the world created by Guillermo del Toro and Travis Beacham which saw the original film come out in 2013, making the film about giant robots versus Kaiju on a $190m budget and the film earned $411m worldwide. Plot details for the sequel are being kept under wraps at the minute, the only detail given at the moment is that the lead character will be the son of Idris Elba’s character.
The report doesn’t state as to what role Dustin Clare (whose credits include Spartacus and Wolf Creek) will have in the upcoming sequel. Clare will be joining a cast that includes John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Adria Arjona, Ivanna Sakhno, Karan Brar, Mackenyu, Rahart Adams, Shyrley Rodriguez and Zhang Jin.
Pacific Rim is currently scheduled for cinematic release on the 23rd February 2018.
