Inhumans: Anson Mount Cast As Black Bolt For ABC’s Marvel Series

TV News - Inhumans - Anson Mount Cast As Black Bolt For ABC's Marvel SeriesMarvel have announced that Hell On Wheels star Anson Mount has been cast in the lead role ABC’s Marvel’s Inhumans television series.

Marvel’s Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family, along with a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers. Anson Mount (whose other credits include Non-Stop and Mr. Right) will be playing the role of Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.

Head of Marvel Television and Executive Producer, Jeph Loeb said:

Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently. His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.

Executive producer and showrunner, Scott Buck added:

Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life.

Anson Mount will be joining recently cast Iwan Rheon. The straight-to-series show will have its first two episodes premiere exclusively in IMAX theatres for two weeks in September 2017, prior to the show starts on the network. Roel Reine will direct the first two episodes, while Scott Buck and Jeph Loeb will serve as executive producers alongside Jim Chory.
