Deadline is exclusively reporting that Anya Taylor-Joy is in talks to star in Kristin Scott Thomas’ directorial debut The Sea Change.
The story follows a group of people who re-evaluate loss, love and human connection when they find themselves together on a remote Greek island. Emmanuel is a successful London playwright married to the complex and witty Lillian for many years, but their marriage is in crisis, a crisis overcome by the arrival of a curious and outspoken young girl. Their relationship is thrown into perspective when her life is thrown upside down.
Kristin Scott Thomas will be playing the role of Lillian while Mark Strong is in talks to play the role of Emmanuel. The film is based on Elizabeth Jane Howard’s acclaimed novel of the same name, with Rocket Science handling worldwide sales for the project and is currently on the lookout for buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin. Rebecca Lenkiewicz has adapted the novel for the screen and Barnaby Thompson is producing for Fragile Films. Principal photography is scheduled to begin later this year in the UK and Europe.
