Deadline (and other media outlets) is exclusively reporting that Warner Bros. are offering Matt Reeves the directing job to helm DC Film Batman.
Two weeks ago Ben Affleck departed from directing Batman’s solo outing in this DC Extended Universe and a week ago a report from Forbes came out that the script was set to either get a major rewrite or start from scratch as the search began to find a new director. Then Variety reporter Justin Kroll answered a question on twitter recently about the Batman script and that his sources were refuting the Forbes report about the script, which is possibly the one rewritten by Chris Terrio.
Matt Reeves has directed Cloverfield and Let The Right One In American remake Let Me In, but it’s recently that his stock has risen after directing Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the upcoming apes film War for the Planet of the Apes. I for one would be happy that Reeves helmed the film though I can’t say that it gives me much hope for wants to come as the last few weeks surrounding this project has dampened my spirits for the DECU. Is Joe Manganiello still set to play Deathstroke?
