Mortal Engines: Hera Hilmar Joins Cast


Film News - Mortal Engines - Hera Hilmar Joins CastDeadline and Variety have reported that Hera Hilmar has landed the female lead role in Universal and MRC’s adaptation of Philip Reeve’s novel Mortal Engines, which is being written and produced by Peter Jackson.

 

The novel is set thousands of years into the future where Earth’s cities now roam the globe on huge wheels, devouring each other in a struggle over diminishing resources. On one of these massive Traction Cities, Tom Natsworthy has an unexpected encounter with a mysterious young woman from the Outlands, who will change the course of his life forever.

 

Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens will be co-writing the film and Christian Rivers will be directing. Zane Weiner, Amanda Walker and Deborah Forte will serve as producers along with Walsh and Jackson, while Kamins will serve as executive producer. Production is set to commence this spring in New Zealand. Hera Hilmar will be joining already cast Robert Sheehan and Ronan Raftery.

 

Mortal Engines is scheduled for cinematic release on the 14th December 2018.
