The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Nicole Kidman is in negotiations with DC/Warner Bros. to join the cast of Aquaman.
The report states that Nicole Kidman is in talks to play the role of Aquaman’s mother Atlanna, who hails from royalty in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. She escapes her kingdom and falls in love with a lighthouse keeper, giving birth to the boy who will one day grow up to be a bridge between two worlds.
If Kidman signs up to join the DCEU, it won’t be her first DC film she’s appeared in as she played Dr. Chase Meridian in 1995’s Batman Forever. If she joins Kidman will be joining a cast that includes Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Aquaman is scheduled for cinematic release on the 5th October 2018.
