The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Dominic West is the latest name to join the cast of MGM and GK Films Tomb Raider reboot.
This film will tell the story of a young and untested Lara Croft setting out on her first expedition to finish her father’s research and uncover ancient secrets in order to clear his disgraced name. Roar Uthaug, who directed the Norwegian disaster film The Wave, is attached to direct. Dominic West will be playing the role of Lara’s father.
Tomb Raider started off as a video game franchise back in 1996 which was then rebooted in 2013 and it also managed to spawn off into two feature films in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003) which had Angelina Jolie in the Lara Croft role. Dominic West will be joining a cast that includes Alicia Vikander, Walton Goggins and Daniel Wu.
Tomb Raider is scheduled for cinematic release on the 16th March 2018.
