White Men Can’t Jump: Remake In Development At Fox

Film News - White Men Can't Jump - Remake In Development at Fox The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Black-ish creator Kenya Barris is teaming up with athletes-turned-producers Blake Griffin and Ryan Kalil to develop a remake of the 1992 sports comedy White Men Can’t Jump for 20th Century Fox.

The 1992 film focused on two hustling streetballers, Sidney Deane and Billy Hoyle, after their initial encounter they become a partnership for their own agendas and hustle other plays for money and competing in a major two-on-two outdoor tournament.

Kenya Barris will be penning the script for the project as well as serving as a Producer alongside Blake Griffin and Ryan Kalil, who were be producing under the Mortal Media banner, which is also developing The Rocketeer reboot for Disney. The idea of a White Men Can’t Jump remake in the present time could actually be a decent retelling as the original is such a time capsule of early-90’s fashion and slang, though it will be tough to find a pairing like Wesley Snips and Woody Harrelson for this new take.
