Soldado: Matthew Modine Joins Cast

Film News - Soldado - Matthew Modine Joins CastDeadline exclusively reports that Matthew Modine is the latest name to be joining the cast of the Sicario sequel Soldado.


Where the original had us primarily follow Emily Blunt’s Kate Macer, the sequel will have us follow Benicio Del Toro’s Alejandro Gallic and Josh Brolin’s CIA Agent Matt Graver, who in Sicario were established as men hellbent on hunting down cartel kingpins, no matter what. Here they try to provoke a war with the Sonoran drug cartel by kidnapping Isabel Reyes, the daughter of the cartel’s top gangster.


Matthew Modine (whose recent credits include Army of One and Stranger Things) will be playing the role of Secretary of Defense Director James Ridley opposite Catherine Keener, who plays his Deputy Director. Modine will be joining a cast that includes Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, Catherine KeenerIsabela MonerManuel Garcia-RulfoDavid Castaneda and Elijah Rodriguez.


There is no cinematic release date as of yet for Sicario.
