Variety is reporting that Suki Waterhouse, Odessa Young, Hari Nef and Abra have been cast to star in thriller Assassination Nation.
Assassination Nation follows four teenage girls in a small suburb who become the focus of unwanted, worldwide media attention after their personal information is leaked by an anonymous hacker. The reports don’t state what roles the actors have been cast in.
Foxtail Entertainment’s Matthew Malek and Anita Gou released a statement saying:
Odessa, Hari, Abra and Suki are great, rising talents who all come from different backgrounds and collectively make up a cast that is young, diverse and powerful – all things we want this film to reflect. What attracted both of us to the project was it’s bold depiction of teenagers, not as vapid or distracted but rather engaged and determined to navigate the complexities of this new world. It tackles issues of shaming, mob mentality, vigilantism, and righteousness.
The film is being written and directed by Sam Levinson, with the film being produced by Foxtail Entertainment, Phantom Four and Bron Studios in association with Creative Wealth Media. Matthew Malek and Anita Gou are serving as producers under their Foxtail banner, with David Goyer and Kevin Turen under the Phantom Four banner and Aaron L. Gilbert under the Bron Studios banner. Creative Wealth Media’s Jason Cloth and Andy Pollack will serve as executive producers.
Principal photography will commence in Louisiana in spring 2017.
