Deadline reports that Wendell Pierce, Dina Shihabi and Ali Suliman are the latest names to join the cast of Amazon’s straight-to-series drama Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.
Jack Ryan will be reinvented with a modern sensibility of the famed hero from Tom Clancy, focusing on him as an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. The series will follow him uncovering a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the centre of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
Wendell Pierce (whose credits include The Wire and The Odd Couple) will be playing the role of James Greer, Ryan’s new boss and a highly successful case officer working in the CIA Directorate of Operations. Dina Shihabi (Whose credits include Amira & Sam and Madam Secretary) will be playing the role of Hani, Suleiman’s wife and an independent Muslim who is willing to go to the ends of the earth to protect her children. Ali Suliman (Whose credits include Body of Lies and Lone Survivor) will be playing the role of Suleiman, a charismatic Islamic activist whose life has taken a wrong turn.
Jack Ryan is co-produced by Paramount TV and Skydance TV, with Carlton Cuse, Graham Roland serving as Executive Producers alongside Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross, along with the film franchise’s producer Mace Neufeld and Lindsey Springer of Carlton Cuse Productions. The trio will join already cast John Krasinski and Abbie Cornish.
