The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
I’m loving the imagery that we’re getting from this trailer, with the wintry landscape taking over the forest terrain that we grew accustom to in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Granted the last line is as cheesy as a cheese and ham toasty, Harrelson looks set to be a formidable foe to Caesar and the rest of the apes as the Colonel. It has an epic conclusion feel to it for Caesar’s story at least if not the prequel instalment before the original Planet of the Apes film. The film stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Judy Greer, Karin Konoval, Terry Notary, Max Lloyd-Jones, Aleks Paunovic, Sara Canning, Gabriel Chavarria, Chad Rook and Amiah Miller.
War for the Planet of the Apes is scheduled for cinematic release on the 14th July 2017.
