The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark. Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
As far as it being the first trailer goes, I liked it. Holland looks set to kill it as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in his first feature outing after Captain America: Civil War and it helps that we’ll see Robert Downey Jr. continue his mentoring role (of sorts) for the character here. We get brief glimpses of Michael Keaton as Vulture which thankfully could be something different in terms of the villains we’ve seen previously in Spider-Man films before. I enjoyed the bank robbery clip and the boat sequence revealed at the end of the trailer could be a scene stealer come the films release. The cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming includes Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, Michael Barbieri, Michael Keaton, Kenneth Choi, Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Logan Marshall-Green, Abraham Attah, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., J.J. Totah, Hannibal Buress, Michael Mando, Tyne Daly, Garcelle Beauvais, Tiffany Espensen, Angourie Rice and Jona Xiao.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled for cinematic release on the 7th July 2017.
