The Good Wife: Paul Guilfoyle And Bernadette Peters Join Cast For Spinoff Series

tv-news-the-good-wife-paul-guilfoyle-and-bernadette-peters-join-cast-for-spinoff-seriesDeadline reports that Paul Guilfoyle and Bernadette Peters are the latest names to sign up for recurring roles  in the spinoff series to The Good Wife on CBS All Access.

The spinoff will be focusing on Christine Baranski’s character Diane Lockhart, which is said to be little lighter in tone than the mothership drama and take place one year after the events of The Good Wife’s series finale. The premise for the spinoff is as follows:

An enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia, while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.

Paul Guilfoyle will be playing the role of Henry, who happens to be Maia’s father and is a wildly successful financial advisor who is phenomenally wealthy and universally loved. Bernadette Peters will be playing the role of Maia’s mother Lenore, who came from a tough working-class background and is a natively brilliant financial whiz. Lenore expanded Henry’s fortune through their family’s private investment firm that is the envy of the financial world.

They will be joining a cast that includes Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Sarah Steele, Rose Leslie and Delroy Lindo.
