Fargo: Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joins Cast For Season 3

tv-news-fargo-mary-elizabeth-winstead-joins-cast-for-season-3Media outlets are reporting now that Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined the cast of the upcoming third season of Fargo on FX.

The third season is set to focus on a pair of lookalike brothers, both played by McGregor, and is supposed to be set closer to present day than the first two seasons. The reports state that Winstead will be playing the role of Nikki Swango, a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge playing. Nikki is a woman with a plan, focused on always being at least one move ahead of her opponents.

Ewan McGregor will be playing the brothers in question, Emmit and Ray Stussy, while Carrie Coon has also been cast in the role of Eden Valley police chief Gloria Burgle. It’s quite interesting news to me as I think Winstead is an underrated actress within Hollywood and has provided memorable performances in Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Smashed and more recently 10 Cloverfield Lane.
