Variety exclusively reports that Li Bingbing is in talks with Warner Bros. to star in monster film Meg.
The film will have us follow Jason Statham playing a former Naval Captain and expert diver who is recruited to undertake a deep-sea mission to rescue Chinese scientists under attack from a terrifying threat…a Carcharodon Megalodon, the 70-foot, 40-ton prehistoric kin to the great white shark.
The film is being directed by Jon Turteltaub, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Belle Avery and Colin Wilson serving as Producers. Originally Fan Bingbing was cast in the film but recently departed due to scheduling issues. So far only Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson and Jessica McNamee.
Meg is scheduled for cinematic release on the 2nd March 2018.
