Deadline exclusively reports that Linda Cardellini has joined the cast of Millennium Films action thriller Hunter Killer.
The film, which will be directed by Donovan Marsh, is based on the novel Firing Point by George Wallace and Don Keith, which revolves around an American submarine commander sent into Russian waters to save the Russian President in the midst of a military coup. Gerard Butler will be playing the American submarine commander while Gary Oldman is attached to play the Russian President. Peter Craig and Jamie Moss have adapted the screenplay.
Linda Cardellini (whose recent credits include Bloodline and Daddy’s Home) will be playing the role of Jane Norquist, a NSA Senior Analyst and Russia expert. The rest of the cast includes Toby Stephens, Billy Bob Thornton, Common, Ryan McPartlin and Gabriel Chavarria. Original Film’s Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe will serve as Producers of the film alongside Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Tucker Tooley, Mark Gill, John Thompson and Matt O’Toole, with Douglas Urbanski, Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Les Weldon, Boaz Davidson and Christine Otal serving as Executive Producers.
The film has no cinematic release date as of yet.
