Captain Marvel: Brie Larson Confirmed At San Diego Comic Con

Film News - Captain Marvel - Brie Larson Confirmed at San Diego Comic ConAt the end of the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic Con there was one final announcement, in which they brought out Brie Larson to confirm that she will be playing Captain Marvel.

Brie Larson, who was in attendance at San Diego Comic Con for the Kong: Skull Island panel, came out to a standing ovation at Hall H. The news comes after reports surfaced back in the start of June that Brie Larson was the frontrunner for the lead role.

Captain Marvel will have us following Carol Danvers, an air force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alternation imbues her with the powers of super strength, energy projection and flight. As of yet there’s still no director on board the project, the script is currently being written by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman.

Marvel’s Captain Marvel is scheduled for cinematic release on the 8th March 2019.
