Variety exclusively reports that Colin Farrell is in talks to star in Sofia Coppola’s remake of The Beguiled.
The original film was released in 1971 and starred Clint Eastwood, focusing on an injured Yankee soldier (played by Eastwood) who finds refuge at an all-girls boarding school in the South during the Civil War and cons his way into several lonely women’s hearts. The report states that if Farrell signs on for the film, he will play the solider in question.
The Civil War drama currently has Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning cast in Sofia Coppola (written and directed) film, with Youree Henley serving as Producer. As of yet there is no production start date set let alone a release date.
