Arrow: Chad Coleman Lands Recurring Role For Season 5

TV News - Arrow - Chad Coleman Lands Recurring Role For Season 5Last night IGN exclusively reported that Chad Coleman will be appearing in a recurring role on the fifth season of Arrow.

Chad Coleman (whose credits include The Wire, The Walking Dead and the recent adaptation of Roots) will be playing the role of Tobias Church, an imposing gangster looking to unite the various criminal enterprises in Star City under his own singular command. Coleman will be making his first appearance on the season 5 premiere.

The casting comes a few weeks after TVLine reported that the creative team behind Arrow were modelling a villain loosely inspired by Stringer Bell from The Wire and be named Anton Church. Whether or not not this means they’ve decided to go with Coleman’s Tobias Church as that inspired character remains to be seen. Coleman is the latest to join the cast of the upcoming fifth season, joining the likes of Rick Gonzalez (Wild Dog), Josh Segarra (Vigilante) and  Madison McLaughlin (Evelyn Sharp/Artemis). I’ve been a fan of Coleman since he played Cutty back in The Wire days and always bring a special presence on screen.
