The push back will allow Dylan O’Brien to have more time to recover from his injuries after an on-set car accident in the middle of March this year. The Hollywood Reporter done an article on the news at the time, which according to sources O’Brien was in a harness on top of a moving vehicle when he was pulled off the vehicle unexpectedly and hit by another vehicle. His injuries were described in a report from WorkSafeBC included a ‘concussion, facial fracture and lacerations’.
Death Cure was originally set for release on the 17th February 2017, which has now been shifted to the 12th January 2018. Wes Ball will be directing once again like he has done with the first two films. The Maze Runner was released in 2014 and made $348m worldwide, with sequel The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials making $312m worldwide when it was released in 2015.
Maze Runner: Death Cure is scheduled for cinematic release on the 12th January 2018.
