Deadline exclusively reports that actors Jeff Daniels and Scoot McNairy are in negotiations to join Scott Frank’s Godless on Netflix, which stars Jack O’Connell.
Godless is a limited series Western from Out of Sight duo Steven Soderbergh and Scott Frank, which is is set in 1884, focusing on a character named Frank Griffin, a menacing outlaw who is terrorising the West as he hunts down Roy Goode (Jack O’Connell), his son-like partner-turned-mortal enemy. While Roy hides at Alice Fletcher’s ranch, Frank’s chase leads him to the quiet town of La Belle which is mysteriously made up entirely of women.
The film is still currently casting and once that is finished, it is set to film in Santa Fe, New Mexico. If I were a betting man, I get the feeling that Jeff Daniels is in discussions for the part of Frank Griffin but for Scoot McNairy I’m at a loss as to whom he could play. If the film picks up these two actors to join the cast then I’ll be even more excited for this series to come out on Netflix.
