Under The Silver Lake: Dakota Johnson Joins Cast

Film News - Under The Silver Lake - Dakota Johnson Joins CastThe Hollywood Reporter and Deadline have reported that Dakota Johnson will star opposite Andrew Garfield in David Robert Mitchell’s next film Under The Silver Lake.

Details of Under The Silver Lake are being kept under wraps at the minute but the film is described to be a modern noir crime thriller set in Los Angeles, which will be written and directed by David Robert Mitchell. Michael De Luca is Producing this under his Michael De Luca Productions banner, with Chris Bender and Jake Weiner and Adele Romanski also aboard as Producers and Lucy Kitada will be overseeing the project for Michael De Luca Productions. Production is set to start at the end of summer and just recently A24 acquired the U.S distribution rights for the film.

Dakota Johnson is currently shooting on Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed (yes, being done back-to-back) and recently appeared in cinemas starring in How To Be Single and A Bigger Splash. Granted she has appeared in some films I haven’t enjoyed, she’s clearly better than what the source material provides (see Fifty Shades of Grey and How To Be Single) and it will be interesting to see what her role is in a modern noir film directed by David Robert Mitchell.
