The Dark Tower: Michael Barbieri In Talks For Role


Film News - The Dark Tower - Michael Barbieri In Talks For RoleDeadline exclusively reports that fourteen-year-old actor Michael Barbieri is in talks to be cast in the role of Timmy in Stephen King’s The Dark Tower.

 

The films synopsis is being kept under wraps at the moment but we know that the first book in The Dark Tower series, The Gunslinger, has already been adapted by Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner in which the book focuses on Roland Deschain aka ‘The Gunslinger’ and his relationship with his young protege Jake Chambers. Serving as Producers alongside Akiva Goldsman is Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Erica Huggins, with Jeff Pinkner serving as Executive Producer and the film is being directed by Nikolaj Arcel.

 

The Dark Tower began production two week ago in South Africa and are set to cast Barbieri (will be seen in film Little Men later in the year) as Timmy, friend of Jake Chambers. Michael Barbieri will be joining a cast that includes Idris Elba (Roland Deschain), Matthew McConaughey (Man In Black), Abbey Lee (believed to be Tirana), Tom Taylor (Jake Chambers), Jackie Earle Haley, Fran Kranz (Pimli) and Katheryn Winnick.

 

The Dark Tower is set for cinematic release on the 13th January 2017.
