The Girl On The Train: First Trailer Drops Online

Film News - The Girl On The Train - First Trailer Drops OnlineUniversal and DreamWorks released the first trailer for big screen adaptation of bestselling novel The Girl On The Train starring Emily Blunt.

The synopsis for The Girl On The Train is as follows:

In the thriller, Rachel Watson, who is devastated by her recent divorce, spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day, until one morning she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds.

The film is directed by Tate Taylor (The Help/Get On Up) and has a cast that includes Haley Bennett (Megan Hipwell), Luke Evans(Scott Hipwell), Rebecca Ferguson (Anna Watson), Justin Theroux (Tom), Edgar Ramirez (Dr. Kamal Abdic), Allison Janney, and Lisa Kudrow (Monica). Besides being unsure of the use of Kanye West’s ‘Heartless’ on this trailer, it definitely fives a thriller vibe in the same vein as Gone Girl and looks set to further showcase Emily Blunt’s leading talents after Sicario. It intrigues me with the cast ensembles along with the premise to check it out but think I’ll only need this trailer to keep me satisfied as i’ll be afraid they’ll accidentally slip something to put the pieces together on the murder reveal in future trailers.

The Girl On The Train is scheduled for cinematic release on the 7th October 2016.
