Deadline reports that Jackie Earle Haley has signed up for a villainous role on Amazon’s The Tick whilst also being in negotiations for a co-starring role in The Dark Tower film.
The Amazon pilot will be a new incarnation of The Tick with an all-new cast based on Ben Edlund’s comic book character, who is writing and executive producing the pilot (and also created the 1994 animated series and the 2001 live-action version, which starred Patrick Warburton as The Tick).
Jackie Earle Haley is set to be playing The Terror, a powerful super villain and the leader of the evil league. The Terror is described as our world’s epitome of the criminal mastermind, a hooded ancient villain barking at his minions whose incredible will power and tenacity have powered an underworld syndicate for decades. Haley will be joining a cast that includes will be joining a cast that includes Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick), Griffin Newman (Arthur, The Tick’s sidekick), Valorie Curry (Arthur’s sister Dot) and Brendan Hines (Superian).
The report doesn’t state however who Haley is in negotiations to play for the potential Dark Tower franchise though if he strikes a deal with Sony he’ll be joining a cast that includes Idris Elba (Roland Deschain), Matthew McConaughey (Man In Black), Abbey Lee (believed to be Tirana) and Tom Taylor (Jake Chambers). Either way it’s a win for both project to enlist the talents of Jackie Earle Haley.
