The article also states that Sony and Marvel have made no comment on the casting, but it will be an interesting development to keep an eye on as Keaton is no stranger to the comic film genre after playing Bruce Wayne/Batman in Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns in 1989 and 1992 respectfully and has had a big screen resurgence as of late with films Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) and Spotlight. Plot details are being kept under wraps at the minute but there was rumours circulating the web since BirthMoviesDeath.com yesterday that Vulture will be making an appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming and it’s difficult to not think of this potential Keaton casting and not see him appearing as Vulture.
Sam Raimi had the idea of introducing Vulture as the villain in Spider-Man 4 with John Malkovich in the role but of course that never came to pass. In the comics Adrian Toomes is a jilted electronics engineer who creates a flight harness that gives him superhuman strength and the ability to fly, having him become more known from then on as Vulture. So far in the cast we have Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May) and Zendaya (Michelle).
Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled for cinematic release on the 7th July 2017.
