Cruel Intentions: Peter Gallagher Joins Cast For NBC Pilot

TV News - Cruel Intentions - Peter Gallagher Joins Cast For NBC PilotVariety has reported that Peter Gallagher is the latest name to join the cast on the NBC pilot Cruel Intentions.

The pilot is set fifteen years after the events of the 1999 film of the same name, having us follow the cunning and beautiful Kathryn Merteuil vying for the control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey, the son of the late Sebastian Valmont and Annette Hargrove.

Peter Gallagher will be playing the role of Edward Valmont, the father of the late Sebastian Valmont (played by Ryan Phillippe in the original film) whose character is described as a sexy, beguiling, sophisticated, powerful and ruthless billionaire hotel magnate with fingers many far-reaching financial pies – some legal and some…not so much. Edward is delighted to discover that he’s got a long-lost grandson in the newly arrived Bash Casey and once the DNA test proves his claim, Edward immediately starts grooming Bash for a life of impossible wealth and opportunity. Peter Gallagher has recently appeared on The Good Wife and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, but will likely be remembered for his roles in Covert Affairs and The O.C as well as on the big screen in Sex, Lies and Videotape and The Man Who Knew Too Little.

Peter Gallagher will be joining a cast that includes Sarah Michelle Gellar (reprising the role of Kathryn Merteuil),  Sophina Brown (Pascal’s ex-wife Naomi), Taylor John Smith (Bash Casey), Samantha Logan (Naomi’s daughter Cassidy), Nathalie Kelley (Chief of Staff Carmen), Kate Levering (Annette Hargrove) and Coby Bell (Pascal Barrett).
